Package freezing is a wonderful hidden feature of NOS 2.x that allows packages to be disabled and enabled on demand, saving on precious heap memory and allowing your Newton to manage packages more efficiently and run faster.

When someone asked in comp.sys.newton.programmer about how to enable and disable freezing in NewtonScript, I decided that writing a little Freezing enabler/disable would be a good idea. So I wrote it, and here it is. It should be pretty self-explanatory.
